Kashag is a Tibetan term that refers to the highest executive body of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA). It is also known as the Cabinet or the Council of Ministers. There are several synonyms for the term Kashag, which can be used interchangeably. These include the Tibetan words Lobsang Tenzin, Gaden Phodrang, and the English words Cabinet, Council of Ministers, and Executive Body. In Tibetan, Lobsang Tenzin translates to "Ocean of Wisdom," while Gaden Phodrang means "Joyful Palace" and refers to the seat of the Dalai Lama. Regardless of which term is used, they all refer to the same governing body within the Tibetan government.
