However, there are several alternative ways to describe this group without employing a pejorative. For instance, individuals who are compassionate and empathetic towards others can be referred to as humanitarians, social reformers, or progressive activists. Calling them "bleeding hearts" only serves to undermine their values and contributions to society, suggesting a lack of empathy in the person using the term.
